CSV ↔ Excel Converter
Bank portals, GST offline tools, Tally, payment gateways and e-commerce dashboards export data as CSV, while colleagues and auditors expect Excel. Conversely, GSTR-1/2B offline utilities, bulk UPI/NEFT upload templates and many ERPs accept only CSV. This tool converts in either direction locally in your browser — files are never uploaded.
CSV → Excel
- Upload a .csv/.tsv/.txt file or paste the text; the delimiter (comma, tab, semicolon, pipe) is auto-detected.
- Numeric text such as "1,25,000.00" can be converted to real numbers so Excel can SUM them.
- Blank rows and trailing empty columns are trimmed.
- Download a proper .xlsx workbook — no "file format does not match extension" warnings.
Excel → CSV
- Upload .xlsx, .xls, .xlsm or .ods. If the workbook has several sheets, pick the one you need from a dropdown, or download all sheets as separate CSV files.
- Choose the output delimiter; the CSV is saved with a UTF-8 BOM so Hindi/regional text opens correctly in Excel.
- Dates and formatted numbers are exported as displayed.
Preview
The first 50 rows are shown in a table with row and column counts and the number of numeric columns detected, so you can confirm the header row and column alignment before downloading.
Worked example
A UPI settlement CSV with 4,000 lines and amounts like "4,520.00" → uploaded, "Convert numeric text" ticked → downloaded as settlement.xlsx with a true numeric Amount column, ready for a pivot table.
Tips
- If a CSV opens as one column in Excel, the delimiter is probably semicolon — this tool detects it automatically.
- Leading zeros (account numbers, PIN codes) are preserved as text unless you enable numeric conversion.

Why does Hindi text look garbled in Excel from other tools?
